Part of a series of video-cassettes based on the author's book, "Atlas of Temporal Bone and Lateral Skull Base Surgery", this is part two of the PAL cassette which looks at the system of the modified transcochlear approaches to the surgical anatomy of the lateral skull base. Using cadavers, the surgical anatomy and procedures are shown in a detailed manner that is not achieved in videos of live surgery. The videos are a useful guide to this extremely complex anatomic region, and provide the viewer with tips on the use of instruments, avoidance of vital structures and other pitfalls.
