Made famous worldwide by his pointillist paintings, Paul Signac (1863-1935) is less well-known for his watercolours. In 1892, when resting in Saint Tropez, the artist discovered the immense possibilities of this specific technique, which later become his favourite means of expression. Signac's watercolours display his amazing grasp of colour and the effects of light on the sea, the sky and nature.
